Tim Johnson, MA LMFT
Tim has been working with children and families for over 25 years. He received his Master’s degree at Fuller Theological Seminary in California. He has worked with youth and families as an in-home counselor, a youth pastor for 11 years, and in a clinical setting after he received his marriage and family therapist license in 2000. Tim has been in private practice for 5 years and for the past 3 years has enjoyed working with youth at Prairie Lakes Youth Programs in Willmar.
Tim's clinical expertise is working with children and adolescents who struggle with emotional and behavioral health issues like depression, anxiety, ADHD, Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. His approach is to work with families since he has found greater success when the family system is involved in their child’s therapy.
Tim provides marital and couple counseling and has worked with many couples struggling with infidelity, substance abuse, domestic violence, and marital enrichment.
Tim's therapy approach is based on common sense, mutual respect, impartiality, and humor. His hope is that anyone who meets with him will sense the passion that he has in helping others accomplish the goals that they are seeking in their life.
